Peabody Essex Museum, Salem Ma
I was fortunate enough to travel to Salem MA this October. When I was there, I went to the Peabody Essex Museum. I tried to see as much as possible, while the museum had a wonderful collection two exhibits stood out. The first was Hans Hofmann: The Nature of Abstraction, the exhibit contained an amazing overview of Hoffmann’s work and showed many of his more experiential works, ones I was unfamiliar with. The second exhibit that I took particular notice of was titled Where the Questions Live: An Exploration of Humans in Nature, this involved the work of artist Sam-Bruce. Bruce creates multi-sensory installations that invite visitors to explore and participate in the works. Both were excellent and enriching.

I like to view work at local art centers and galleries. Seeing work by local artists is important in creating a vital local arts community. One gallery show I attended was the Feed gallery in Kankakee. This gallery showcases local artists, sponsors workshops and supports local businesses. This piece is from the Feed show about modern collage.
